Wow. Well, despite the hype in the odds thread etc, I really didn't think that Joshua would win at all and just thought it was a few of our more vocal participants who were on board with it!! I was bu

If we do go to d'Áskorza, the host is probably gonna hate my entry haha 🤪 Probably one of my 'weirdest' (and noisiest in parts) entries. But it's also so strangely beautiful! I probably should try harder to keep my now-record streak up but I care more about getting the sending of this song out of my system than I do about my streak lmao.

Is the rule still in place that hosting goes down the line to the highest in the results that hasn't hosted before until someone accepts? Who would that be on this occasion?

I think it's only within the top 10.

Fab hosting John! Congrats to Dandy*, Jonjo and Silas - strong top 3!

Klum Rep and FARC were robbed x

Another middling result for me (shame, I though this one could do better) but keeping the Q streak up!

I’m just looking at the full results now, points and all, and it actually backs up what I was saying in the odds thread that “nothing felt like a winner”. Apart from Fljotavik, I was wrong about that and it IS a runaway winner but 253pts is notably low for 2nd place.

That would’ve got you 6th in BJSC 182 and 6th in BJSC 181. It was a perfect storm for a (more than usual) divisive song to win because there was no alternative that galvanised people enough.

I don’t mean any of the above as a negative though, I think it’s good to see the song with the most 18s win and also prove that you don’t have to hit some kind of alt-pop-dance sweet spot to win either. It’s good to see a ~Kaarija win where a safer Loreen/Nemo/JJ would usually, if you will.

I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. Käärijä was actually good

So you’ll be doing a clothes washing theme for 184 then?

Wow, Dandy being the master of landslide wins then! Can't say I ~get~ the track at all but well done anyway :') and I've voted Fljotavik plenty in the past so I'll just pretend it's for "Send Me An Angel" instead.

I'm just glad to have qualified this month after all the DNQ predictions. It's funny cause I got votes from countries I'd never have expected it to appeal to (Klum, Aeroche, Skall) but then was snubbed by a good chunk of pop-bloc countries, haha. How can you resist the immaculate vocals of Nicole Scherzinger!?

Thank you for hosting John. Beautiful presentation ❤️

Congratulations @dandy* for the win! It was a really good one-of-a-kind record x

Happy to finally get both a new final position and my first Top 11-20, so thanks to everyone voting for this amazing soundtrack of a series ruined by Netflix heart

Congratulations Dandy *.* what an instantly iconic winner, I'm so happy all of the hype did indeed translate into not just a win, but an emphatic one. I was blown away at the semi listen through, by those genius, quotable lyrics and the compelling production too. I wondered if it would hold up on subsequent listens but thankfully I was just as charmed at the final listen through... so an obvious 18! I think this is the first time my gold has won since Fat Dog, so a 2 year wait is not too bad. Speaking of my own medallists... in the absence of my votes being posted (those graphics were a far more beautiful replacement tbh) - I pointed out that this is the first time Hendinia have EVER appeared on my podium !!! so it took 11 years but finally got there haha. 'Starry Eyed' was quite an obvious favourite, as it appeared in my chart a few months ago, but there we go. We've had some good relations recently with Rob giving Erin LeCount 18 too <3

It was wild to see 'Bengramo' sitting in the top 5 during the early reveals, but a 28th finish makes far more sense. I suppose I still slightly over-performed as my predictions were mostly in the 30s. A shame Nate didn't end up voting, as he was a great cheerleader for it at the listen through and awarded it 10 points in the semi, but never mind. Thank you to anyone who voted for it at either stage! Overall, I'm content with how this month panned out, loved being back in the final and it was really satisfying to introduce people to such an obscure song.

Two of my aforementioned podium placers book-ended the top 10 ooh *.* I think Skall were the only other nation I voted for in that section (Nelly and Greenfroze were commiserations ;_;) - great to see that doing so well, gave me slight Altern-8 vibes with that rave influence but with more crossover appeal.

Justice for Summericia, Scotland 2 + N DNTN!

Thank you John for a great hosting job! I wish I could've followed along live but still enjoyed catching up on the slick presentation.

Ok so after sifting through the PMs which John kindly sent over to me I can confirm the real winner this month was Kathaldazia, oh well DONE cheer my tallying matches exactly with the scoreboard on page 10 so appears Jafet's tracking of his own scores stamped out the only error before I even started my audit!

As well as breaking my long streak of not voting for winners I voted for half of the top 10 this month so that is pretty good going - Baleghde's song has been stuck in my head a lot lately, some prime Latin trashpop there, great to see that my moderately out there prediction of Greenfroze being a top 10 contender panned out as well and Skall and Hendinia are some great bops and jams to round out the top 10 (me giving a rare double figure pointage to the latter denying myself a place in said top 10 but ho hum x). 'Che Fastidio!' got a commis from me too and 'The Way We Touch' was also pretty good, ranked 26th for me. Also really pleased to see Dalisska making the top 15, such a unique entry and really infectious, copying what I said on SyncTube but for a song that is 100% Welsh I cannot shake the feeling that the vocal melody sounds very Punjabi. A little cluster of my faves in positions 26-29, all decent enough results, I do wonder if 'The Heron' could have stood out more if it wasn't obviously overshadowed by a more talked about spoken word song but that was a very good Real Lies esque track, and Jadakissnia should have been higher but for such a leftfield and obscure pick being in the top 30 is not bad. I see my fear that Cheiron might have struggled to qualify wasn't unfounded with them kind of scraping through (would have DNQed without my 7 in the semi eep!) and finishing bottom 10, that definitely deserved way better as did Deandria and Scotland 2. East Rukahavian picking up a milestone 10th final wooden spoon and second in a row gah - although I'm sure that still beats not qualifying. Just checking and it is the 4th time a country has come last in the final twice in a row, after Quotosibb in BJSCs 34-35, Terra Avium in BJSCs 51-52 (I did think I remembered them doing it) and N-Lazone in BJSCs 74-75. (Persephonia and East Rukahavian combine to make up 7 of the last 18 wooden spoons cheeseblock)

Joshua Idehen "only" got 8 18s in the end (Charlotte Cardin actually wasn't that far behind getting 5 of them herself, and in fact both songs finished in the same number of people's top 3s with Joshua having an 8-2-1 split to Charlotte's 5-4-2!) so not getting too close to that record. I will update with where it ranks on the all-time standard deviation based leaderboard once I've crunched the numbers x

So yes, thanks to dhwe as I already acknowledged for giving me my only gold of the month at the last minute and further gracias for silvers from @HarryGarfield and @152chris, a bronze from @uhsting, double figure points from @Jacob-, @dandy*, @Ansel, @Iz様 🌟, @Josh! and @brave lil toaster + the rest of my points from @pavi, @jakee, @!!!, @awardinary, @matto, @LiamSime, @Jade, @NocheLuna, @blacksquare, @J00prstar, @Mack, @jimwatts, @Sabrewulf and @Nine And ¾ wave 24 voters is the most I've got for nearly 2 years (Agent blå got 28 in BJSC 164, Chikoi The Maid 'only' got 23 while coming top 5!) so we love to see that even with a few notably surprising snubs (nice to see that I did get a few points from Cumulonimbia in the semi at least, as well as a cheeky point from Cheiron, while I rose into the points zone in the final for Ennea and Zanmatony). That's the first time I've got points from Freidland and the 10 points from Baleghde just over doubles the total number of points we have ever received from them *.* cherishing a very unlikely points swap there x Not going unnoticed either that it's been quite solid points from Ajanaeda twice in a row <3 and Pestolia continuing to be a reliable cheerleader although I was cheating this time sending a song I already knew they liked hehe. Not yet securing a top 10 hit for 2026 but now making it 13 calendar years in a row that I've had at least one top 11 hit... will see if I end up repeating 2023 where 11th placed Fatal Youth proved to be my biggest hit of the year.

Thanks John for the hosting, shame that we won't be getting another Fljótavík contest but fair enough - looks like it is indeed off to République d'Áskorza for 184, hopefully I'll be able to stumble upon some more inspiration for an entry next month, I won't regret sharing this song on here but still feels like it was a little bit of a copout to default back to a song that I'd originally ruled out of sending x

kinda forgot to share this since I sent a JoJo reference x
