Today, Elon Musk has become the world's first and only trillionaire. That's 15 zeros. His net worth is estimated to be $1.2 trillion. No one on Earth needs that much money.

And yet there are some many things that much money still can’t buy.

Just do a thumbs up and turn your screen or head upside down to pretend it's one 🤣

This’ll be the SpaceX IPO that pushed it over the edge, the most overhyped stock market debut in history

the modern Edison/Ford with all the comments about their personal character that that comment entails and worse

He just needs to spend some of it on a heavily guarded island and he'll have fully transitioned into a Bond villain

There are 31,593 people signed up to Buzzjack. If we were to split Elon’s vast, vast wealth between us, we’d have nearly £38 million each. What would you do with that money?

If billionaires shouldn't exist, and they shouldn't, trillionaires...

like this should literally be UN-level seizure of assets and trust-busting shit levels, instead his companies are probably going to merge and give him even more power while he rants and promotes far-right hate groups in England and anywhere else he's interested in.

You'd be able to keep it comfortably at #1 most weeks for well over 300 weeks by giving it 100,000 weekly downloads x

Alex Warren coming for Bryan Adams wig!

(Noone should be a trillionnaire... Wealth distribution [or lack of it] is just so f***ed, and the rich largely do the bare minimum good with their wealth [if at all])

True. Like morals.

Sadly just a sign that the world is heading towards a more dystopian future as seen in many sci-fi films as opposed to a utopian future. Wealth inequality is probably the #1 issue the world faces and is the heart of so many issues/problems...

The aspirational reporting I have seen on this is disgusting. Why are investors paying a wildly inflated premium for a company whose only profitable segment is Starlink, whose flagship project has no near-term commercial return, and whose sand-eating leader is a global political liability currently fomenting riots? Maggots for brains x

If we're revoking UK travel permits then I would start with this barrel-chested ewok, who spends all of his time (such a hard worker!) inciting and amplifying violence (just this week!) with his fascist platform that for some insane reason people still use

Tesla has been an irrational blight on the stock market for years already, most automobile manufacturer stocks are in the pits while it trades like it's trying to be part of the Mag 7 (Google, Microsoft, Amazon et al), sure it has some non-car arms like battery storage but not to the point it should be worth a 1.5 trillion market cap, I imagine SpaceX will be similar as it rolls Starlink and Musk's AI stuff into it. And then, yes, wouldn't be surprised if he tries to combine everything he has into some X-shaped company, urgh.

There's something about him which makes the type of people who invest in stocks get drawn to him, I'd say I can't wait for the time that he gets found out and it all comes crashing down but he's the financial equivalent of Trump now, one of the most obnoxious people on earth but with legions of defenders and acolytes that will not accept any critical judgement, so that probably won't happen.
