So we’re all just playing dumb and acting like Xmas (and River) didn’t get to #1 because of Alexa’s annual Christmas miracle (just like Jess Glynne, Lizzo, Sam Ryder getting top 10s long past their peaks) and that women over 50 get chart hits all the time? Sure why not lol

I don't think anyone is saying that, just that there is no reason Shakira couldn't be an Alexa exclusive or jump on another track that takes off because of the World Cup in the next World Cup and achieve it.

Shakira is still a massive name in the Spanish speaking world, there's nothing stopping her new stuff from doing a Bad Bunny and going mega viral with a Spanish song that is already doing well in the States.

Rein Me In down 510 sales compared to this time last Wednesday so touch and go if it goes to 2 weeks of decline.

It's probably the closest we'll ever get to someone to break the record if it does then well done Sam Fender and Olivia Dean. 🐎 🐎

Having modern artists breaking records is making a mockery of the classic artists who had these records with effort. With Frankie, Bryan and Wets, people actually went out and bought these songs. Shame Olivia didn’t include Rein Me In as a bonus track on her album because if she did, it would’ve diluted the sales for the song itself

Sorry, are you suggesting that now records have been set they should never be broken?

Well what would be the point of keeping any track of anything then? Just do away with the charts, Spotify charts/amazon/apple etc because Hadji doesn’t care for old records being broken.

I am laughing to myself imagining the scenes and meltdowns if RMI falls from #1 but then avoids ACR and returns to #1 afterwards. 🤭😂

OMG please let Robyn stay top 40!! Who cares about the #1 record being broken when Robyn is dancing on her own

Rein Me In should benefit from likely missing Spotify data.

Another top 40 week for Mr. Brightside?

Our usually reliable source on twitter was saying yesterday:

"At the moment, fewer than 2,000 sales separate the two records."

the gap today is 666.

I do care about old records being broken and yeah, let’s do away with streaming. It’s like a disease to the charts. And I will say one thing and I don’t care if you disagree because I’ll say it anyway but Rein Me In being number 1 this long is worse than the 2020 lockdown

I'm no fan of the song by any means, but it's affecting your life to the point you consider it worse than the ramifications of a global pandemic you should probably be seeking help.

Your saying a song potentially spending 19 weeks at the top of the chart is worse than millions of people dieing 😮 thats wild even for you
