Bananarama also scoring their highest charting studio album this week with True Confession at #6 ❤️

I was expecting resets for "Talking Body", "I Love You", and "Just Give Me A Reason" this week.

Unfortunately with the British public it will be.

First posthumous duet in the top 10 since Laurel & Hardy?

Probably, the closest I can think of at the moment is the vocalists of 'Fairytale of New York' since Shane MacGowan passed away a few years ago!

Let's tone down the constant swearing when it's not needed and the posts that contain thinly-veiled accusations relating to disgraced former popstars please.

A very exciting chart battle and I do think Choosin Texas is a deserved No1. That said it is another song from 2025. It will be interesting to know if 2026 will have the least new charted songs from their actual year in history. Must be going back to 1950s!

Wow, where did Sienna got that boost from. Happy that Ella made it!

Probably from overtaking Olivia on Spotify. It went to about 40k ahead of Ella so it made a great late surge, I was worried it would deny Ella so i'm glad it didn't.

Assume she will get number 1 next week (assuming Miley isn't pulling the numbers outside of the gay community that she would need).

Sad for Dolly but she gets her two biggest hits and Jolene betters it's No.7 peak in 1976 by just one place. I bought the RCA 45 then.

Maybe it would have been better for me not to remind everyone of this one existing but there was Lil Peep and XXXTENTACION - Falling Down in 2018.

Wow completely forgot that just about made the top 10, thanks Bré

(just realised that and Oasis' 'Falling Down' both reached #10)

Unless I’m missing something, Choosin Texas is the 15th country song (I’m identifying country songs as tracks that charted on the billboard country airplay chart), and first from an established Nashville artist since Kenny Rogers in 1980.

• Elvis Presley, "All Shook Up" (1957)

• Elvis Presley, "Jailhouse Rock" (1957)

• Elvis Presley, "Are You Lonesome Tonight" (1961)

• Elvis Presley, "The Wonder of You" (1970)

• John Denver, "Annie’s Song" (1974)

• Tammy Wynette, "Stand By Your Man" (1975)

• Kenny Rogers, "Lucille" (1977)

• Elvis Presley, "Way Down" (1978)

• Dr. Hook, "When You’re In Love With a Beautiful Woman (1979)

• Kid Rock, "All Summer Long" (2008)

• Lil Nas X, "Old Town Road" (2019)

• Beyoncé, "Texas Hold ‘Em" (2024)

• Taylor Swift, "I Knew It, I Knew You" (2026)

• Ella Langley, "Choosin Texas" (2026)

And bonus, UK number ones that did gather USA country airplay, but just not the enough to chart in their top 50.

• Nancy Sinatra, "These Boots Are Made For Walking" (1966)

• Tom Jones, "Green Green Grass of Home (1966)

• Pitbull feat. Kesha, "Timber" (2014)

• Ed Sheeran, "Thinking Out Loud" (2014)

• Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, "Shallow" (2018)
