September 8, 201312 yr 35 (from 41) Olly Murs - Right Place Right Time [D] http://a4.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/042/Music4/v4/22/3e/13/223e131f-624c-71e2-232e-13d1ea840336/886444055543.170x170-75.jpg Chart Run: 71-61-41-35 [4 wks] Release date: 25-08-2013 Format: download only single Label: Epic Video here: 8lxaNO5V06k download track listing 1 Right Place Right Time 2 Right Place Right Time (Live from the O2 Arena) 3 Right Place Right Time (Max Sanna & Steve Pitron Radio Edit) 4 Right Place Right Time (Thomas Gandey Club Mix) Biography With a "cheeky chappy" persona to match Robbie Williams and vocals reminiscent of original Pop Idol Will Young, former call-center worker Olly Murs was one of the success stories of the 2009 season of The X Factor, finishing runner-up to Joe McElderry in the hotly contested final. Born in Essex in 1984, Murs showed little interest in singing while at school, focusing his attention on football, where he played for the school team and later semi-professionally for local non-league team Witham Town. In 2007, he appeared on Deal or No Deal, where he won a lowly £10, but it was his performance of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" on the sixth series of The X Factor that enabled him to show off his talents. Mentored by Simon Cowell in the live stages, he wowed judges with renditions of songs by the Beatles, Queen, and George Michael and soon became the favorite to win the show. However, despite a duet with musical hero Robbie Williams in the final, Murs finished a respectable second. In 2010, he signed a six-figure record deal with Epic/Syco Music and embarked on the sold-out X Factor arena tour. After being personally invited by Williams to play at the televised charity football event Soccer Aid, Murs released his first single, the Jason Mraz-inspired "Please Don't Let Me Go," in August. His debut album, featuring songs written by Eg White, Scouting for Girls' Roy Stride, and Wayne Hector, was released in 2010. The record produced three U.K. Top 20 singles, with "Thinking of Me" and "Heart on My Sleeve" racking up chart positions alongside the debut number one "Please Don't Let Me Go." Murs took a short break from his musical career in late 2011 to present the eighth season of The Xtra Factor — a spinoff behind-the-scenes look at The X Factor — returning to the program that shot him to fame. His experience with the dynamics involved in the show and his upbeat character made him a firm favorite with the audience — as well as flirty co-presenter Caroline Flack. During the recording of each show, Murs was working on songs for his second album with writers Steve Robson (Lily Allen, James Morrison) and Claude Kelly (Kelly Clarkson, Backstreet Boys). The first single from his second record, "Heart Skips a Beat," featuring U.K. hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, was released in summer 2011 and swiftly became a hit. The full release, In Case You Didn't Know, followed in November and secured his first U.K. number one album. The following year, Murs opened for sprightly boy band One Direction on their North American tour and re-released the "Heart Skips a Beat" single, replacing Rizzle Kicks with Philadelphia rap duo Chiddy Bang, to coincide with the shows. Also in 2012, Murs released his third studio album, Right Place Right Time, which included the single "Troublemaker," featuring rapper Flo Rida. ~ Jon O'Brien & Scott Kerr, Rovi / iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2010 01 Please Don't Let Me Go -1- 2010 69 This One's For The Girls -B side- 2010 04 Thinking Of Me -2- 2011 20 Heart On My Sleeve -3- 2011 45 Busy -4- 2011 01 Heart Skips A Beat (Olly Murs Feat. September 8, 201312 yr I remember when that Starship was in the chart originally :( Is that a good or bad thing
September 8, 201312 yr Cheers. So with download sales from the last 8 years and now this latest boost from the advert, could we be looking at another million seller? I doubt it, as it hasn't been in the top 40 since 1987! But hopefully MW will give us an update this week.
September 8, 201312 yr Yay for Olly Murs making the top 40! What a high quality era for him (excluding Army of Two which was awful)
September 8, 201312 yr Really like 'Right Place Right Time' and am glad it has finally gone top 40. The chorus is so good. It is still criminal 'Busy' underperformed and never got a top 40 placing. :( One of his best singles ever IMO.
September 8, 201312 yr Author Cheers. So with download sales from the last 8 years and now this latest boost from the advert, could we be looking at another million seller? Downloads didn't really pick up until 2009 so It might be about 800k now? :D
September 8, 201312 yr Nowhere near as good as Dear Darlin', but I'm really starting to like this now!
September 8, 201312 yr I doubt it, as it hasn't been in the top 40 since 1987! But hopefully MW will give us an update this week. It's still a very famous song though that is often on the radio and used on TV programmes so trickle sales of maybe 500 or so a week could mean its in with a shot.
September 8, 201312 yr Yay for Olly Murs making the top 40! What a high quality era for him (excluding Army of Two which was awful) I found 'Army of Two' to be his only tolerable song to date, but then again I'm a sucker for Beatles-esque melodies.

I wish they'd released Busy as the 3rd single instead of Heart On My Sleeve, but then again he has a lot more of a buzz around him now. :P
September 8, 201312 yr Considering I only liked 'Heart Skips A Beat' before, I'm really surprised I liked all 4 singles from this era.
