I think it's just a case of it being a naturally frontloaded release, plus it's not strong enough on streaming to make up for the slowing physical sales.

As things stand it does look like it could come down to the wire between Westlife and Ed by the end of the week, but maybe they'll be lucky and hold on to #2. Maybe a temporary sale price would be beneficial for them if they're keen to peak at #2 rather than #3!

It is pretty exceptional that this is on track to become their 12th consecutive Top 3 peak with studio albums! Or 14th consecutive Top 5 including the two Greatest Hits.

westlife need a price drop on itunes and on their store if they wanna keep the #2
I know, I love 19 ( granted I love all four of her albums). It’s a shame to always see it lag behind the others though.

On the bright side it got the recognition and boost it deserved worldwide when 21 became a success it is.

Before 21 I’m sure Adele wasn’t widely known in Australia.

Well, "21" still debuted at #3 off the back of the profile she'd built prior so that's something to "19"'s credit ("Rolling In The Deep" wouldn't make the top 50 for another 2 months). I remember seeing "Chasing Pavements" get played on TV a lot. Of course, Adele being widely known at the start of 2011 does not hold a candle to how widely known she is 10 years later

Very good point, I should’ve mentioned that. Haha

I do remember 21 debuting at #3 and being pleasantly surprised. I mean 19 was somewhat successful even if I don’t remember where it debuted or charted before 2011. I did manage to pick a CD Singles of Chasing Pavements and Cold Shoulder from JB Hi-Fi in 2008. So there must’ve been enough of a demand for stores to stock them.

How did u figure?

cos if you calculate the final outcome based on Sun sales, Ed will do 45K and Westlife 38K

so the only way to reverse that is with a mid-week price drop

To be honest I don't think the difference between #2 and #3 is worth a price drop. It's only worth it for the #1 spot which they are clearly not challenging for now. Westlife's chart legacy is outstanding even if they get #3, every one of their studio albums has gone top 3 and the majority have got to #1!

So 16.1k sales in 3 days, 5.1k yesterday, will lead up to 45k in the rest of four days? I know its now very tight but most probably both ed and westlife will settle in betwen 36k and 40k

This is my estimation too

My bad, I did 5x7 and thought it was 45 :D it's 35 sorry :D

Ed actually has a 20% discount on his website on everything this week

Ed’s up by about 2k on last Monday’s mids so looking like 35-40k. Don’t know if the increase is due to anticipation for the new single, people starting their Christmas shopping or the website discount Bjork just mentioned.
They dropped the prices of their singles easily on this album but I don't think they will do it in the albums coz yup it won't make any difference.
A Top 3 album with over 35k sales is a very good result for them at this stage in their career and given the current market.

Amazing sales for Adele really strong

Monday Sum up:

Adele 14.9k

Westlife 2.4k

Ed Sheeran 5.1k

ABBA 4.1k

Gary 1.4k

30 is already the second biggest selling album of the year after just a week and a half.
If Adele keeps up the same pace for the next 3 days (Tuesday, weds, Thursday) she could reach 100k
Blimey, Adele might actually sail past 100k this week again, if she keeps up those daily sales. She’s already done what I initially thought she would sales wise this week. Surprised at Wham and Mariah climbing, hope Adele can pull back ahead but beginning to think it’s unlikely.
