September 11, 20232 yr The power of TERFs sending Roisin to #2. Elated for Chemical Brothers & Romy top 10, great albums.
September 11, 20232 yr Has the “cancelled” status of Roisin actually helped her out or is it just a case of low sales besides Olivia? Really didn’t expect to see her midweek top 3!
September 11, 20232 yr Has the “cancelled” status of Roisin actually helped her out or is it just a case of low sales besides Olivia? Really didn’t expect to see her midweek top 3! Well her previous highest album went to no. 14 so appears she's gained new fans even if some of her LGBT fans boycotted
September 11, 20232 yr I'd ordinarily feel happy for Roisin, but yeah it's a bit difficult to now. Romy higher than I expected, I hope she can hold top 10.
September 11, 20232 yr Ezra Collective's older album that high? Good sales for Olivia Edited September 11, 20232 yr by Sour Candy
September 11, 20232 yr The Chemical Brothers and The Coral's previous albums debuted with 9,809 and 8,936, unlikely either would do much more than that now. Not a huge stretch for her to be ahead but hard to know the impact before more figures are in.
September 11, 20232 yr Good to see 'Strangers' already up to top 15. Kylie down to 55 though. I guess should've been expected though.
September 11, 20232 yr Wow disappointing to see Olivia’s 3rd song drop from 4 to 9, hope it can make up a bit of ground as the week goes on
September 11, 20232 yr Well thank God Olivia Rodrigo exists. It’s sickening to see Roisin’s album so high knowing that a lot of those sales have come from Terfs who didn’t know who she was until last week.
September 11, 20232 yr I hope Calvin remains at #4 or drops to at least #5 so I can see him with 9-8-7-6-5

September 11, 20232 yr shame to see all american bitch drop so far already, fingers crossed it can climb up by the end of the week
September 11, 20232 yr Roisin almost selling what her last album in 2020 achieved in its first week. 14 Roisin Murphy - 4,724
September 11, 20232 yr I would expect 'get him back!' to overtake 'all-american bitch' as Olivia's third song by Friday, it's ahead on both Spotify and Apple now. I think it's quite likely Róisín Murphy would have got her highest charting album to date anyway even without the controversy (her last album was her previous highest charter and it was very critically acclaimed). I really liked the lead single from this album but her extracurricular activities do put me off rooting for it, as I'm sure that a not insignificant portion of its sales are people trying to make a political point more than anything else. A little disappointing for The Chemical Brothers' album but I suppose they're just continuing a commercial decline that's been ongoing for a while. BTW you have the wrong title for Ezra Collective's album, that's their previous album! (Was that taken from the OCC article? They must have swiftly edited it if so because the title is correct there now). #18 is a decent start for them, not sure that'll be safe for top 40 by the end of the week but fingers crossed.
