Because this is something that I know is an annoyance for hosts but is never openly spoken about and so just remains an inconvenience for future hosts.I really want people to see that you can host this contest without it taking over your life or being a huge effort. Calling out these small things can make a big difference when you’re having to tally 50-60 votes
May 1May 1 Ah, I remember having to crosscheck too a bit back when I hosted some 437 years ago. I also thought you meant include your own country name😆But I always include country names, artist names and song titles in my votes, as I just copy the opening list and rearrange them in Word as I do my listening sessions. Just assumed it was something everyone did, but I remembered otherwise now. Easy to forget if you do it otherwise, maybe. In any case, from now on, let’s just send in our votes in the following format in contests hosted by République d'Áskorza:(example votes, first 15 countries on the list)Baleghde – 18 pointsTEMMIS 1503 \\ Lentyll \\ 13 points Slumber Party – 12 pts.Freidland’s Pegasus – elevenOpera show in the evening with drinks – 10 pintsIgnatius or iggy? – 9 pointagesnumber 8 in the running order, never DNQ’ed in their life ever – 8 pointsfruity title – 7 drowning leprechauns – SIX 11 \\ electro bigh tech 5ordinary average big city - number 4French fun – douze points minus neuf14 \\ u r my Skall-portmanteau (three points)Mom does the project in 2515 – singleThanks!
May 1May 1 Voted! Super strong final, could've voted for 9 more - but I still managed to vote for quite many countries who rarely get points from Land of DW.Just like last month, my 18 would easily make the (imaginary) list of my top 20 fave entries of the past 10 years, amazing stuff!

May 2May 2 Greenfroze has voted as well. It was really hard to arrange my votes this time. And I mean all of them, not just the ones the top! Great final :)

Which I apologise for.But hosting is a massive task and I am not going to book time off work to host an online forum contest. My shift patterns vary quite a bit I can be doing 9-6 or a 12-8 one day but a 6pm-1am/2am the next. Any point across the 7 days. I don't know my rota's too far in advance (2 weeks - the week we'd be in and the following week) so it's very hard to plan anything like this and commit to it as well as the fact I'd also run the most minimalistic contest of all time. (Literally zero graphics etc. but that's not why I don't host - I host other contests across the forum so I know I could do it and would do it).Just my 2 cents on why I passed on hosting and likely will for the foreseeable. I know you probably didn't aim it specifically at me, but as I said just above, the timing of the comments have just played on my mind a little bit and I wanted to clear the air as to why I don't host.
May 2May 2 Sent the votes - really strong final, had a good list of commisserations and some absolutely incredible songs stealing all of my top spots
May 2May 2 Sent my votes in earlier, gosh semi 2 people really brought the heat as well, even some bangers that you let DNQ, strong final.

I know exactly why you and many other pass over the chance to host and I completely understand and sympathise. This isn’t aimed at anyone but more me saying that I want to hopefully show some who have the time but have a little maybe fear on how big a job it is that it is doable. It’s also me saying I’ve a life and I’m not wasting all my spare time chasing after everyone 😅
