Kylie and possible Stormzy aside, also interesting to see SZA's 'Low' showing up there, that is my favourite song from the SZA album so yay for it getting a push but surprising that they're going with that instead of 'Snooze'! Hope that means we'll get a video for it too but not going to hold my breath for it to enter the chart again.

 

edit: just looked it up and she was apparently teasing a 'Low' video back in February lol, but we know she often takes forever to drop things after teasing them x

Is Adele Roberts okay? She's not been on since the middle of May

Just saw on BBC News that she’s leaving Radio 1, May was her last show

It’s a shame she didn’t have the chance of a proper farewell show, particularly as she’s been there a few years? I wonder if she’s moving to one of the Global stations.

 

No surprises at her replacement though, it’s always clear as to who is next in line with Radio 1 :lol:

Sam & Danni will host Weekend Breakfast from September 9

Jess Iszatt will become the new host of BBC Introducing on Sundays, 11pm – 12am from September 10

Adele Roberts and Gemma Bradley to leave Radio 1

Sam & Danni are a fab choice to replace Adele, they're great on air and have experience of covering that particular slot anyway.

 

A huge shame Adele is going, she's been such a trooper especially with her cancer diagnosis and she was a joy to listen to at the weekend

Radio 1 have announced a new summer schedule to take place from Monday July 3rd through to Monday 4 September.

 

Greg James will get a summer lie in as the Radio 1 Breakfast Show will move to a new time slot of 7.30am – 11am (Monday – Friday) for the summer.

Greg will be starting and finishing 30 minutes later so listeners won’t miss out on any of his Breakfast show.

 

Yinka Bokinni and Conor Knight will take over the Friday Early Breakfast slot as part of a monthly rotation from August.

 

Jack Saunders will cover Radio 1’s Future Sounds whilst Clara Amfo takes a summer break.

 

Arielle Free will host Radio 1’s Future Artists.

 

Sam & Danni will cover Radio 1 Early Breakfast.

 

Alyx Holcombe will host Radio 1’s Indie Show.

 

Shanequa Paris will co-host Radio 1’s Life Hacks with Katie Thistleton.

 

Ore Olukoga will cover Radio 1's Weekend Breakfast show.

The tweet doesn’t say what’s happening weekdays after 11am and Sounds hasn’t updated with the schedule information as yet. Seems pointless having Rickie, Melvin and Charlie on for just 1 hour and 45 mins, but that’s what looks to be happening given it’s been left out of the press tweet.

I agree, who gets the summer off apart from teachers. Maybe she has term time working or something?

Tbf Clara is the Radio 1 presenter who has the most projects outside of Radio 1, doesn't she? I'm pretty sure I see her doing the most presenting on TV and things.
Yeh she did Glasto there and she does TOTP as well!

She does do a fair amount of TV... but that one is only about 20 mins of footage featuring her a year at the most :lol:
