1 ROSALÍA - Mio Cristo Piange Diamanti (it’s exciting how this is pushing the boundaries of pop)

2 ABBA - Chiquitita (turns comforting a friend into a glorious epic)

3 Florence + the Machine - Cosmic Love (beautiful and shimmering)

4 Scissor Sisters - Mary (a lovely emotive ballad)

5 David Bowie - Five Years (really enjoy the rhythm and build; a good discovery)

6 Conan Gray - Forever With Me (a good song and he really gives it a lot of welly)

7 Kelly Clarkson - Piece By Piece (Idol Version)(not my usual thing but this is very personal and it does really hit)

8 Atomic Kitten - The Last Goodbye (have a soft spot for this: the lyrics are very sweet)

Classic album opener from Bowie - long build, love the line "don't think you knew you were in this song" and the rousing finish, if he goes out for this the forum has suffered a taste fail. I fear for HAIM too - the "Big Band week" memes apply as this theme doesn't do a lot for them, nevertheless I'd have loved 'Hallelujah' here. Don't object to the Lily choice so much for the theme as for whether we need so many tracks from an album which has already been very much in the Buzzjack conscience of late, though this is undeniably a highlight from it. Kelly always consistent and still my tip to win, this is very stark but hit me more than expected.

Is there any rounds I’ve not put Kelly at 1? Impeccable song. Delta, SS, AK and ABBA all amazing songs too! Rosalia, Chappell, Lily and Florence I love also! Troye and Haim are good just not their best imo. Bowies I’m not a fan of at all, the less said the better 🤣

This was out whilst I was still at my peak obsession with the band - I remember really thinking it was going to be a huge number one, I was so into them that I didn’t quite factor in that most other people weren’t! 😂

If I was opting for something less mainstream then maybe this from Chorus as I always found it to be one of their more beautiful analogue synth based tracks, the chorus and the outro in particular.

Have to admit it’s a shame to see Troye struggling so much in this round with a gorgeous ballad, almost being punished for being too faithful to the theme particularly when, for all the talk about Pussy Palace, the likes of Cosmic Love and Chiquitita really don’t fit the brief in my opinion.

The concept of Cosmic Love not being a ballad…

It’s a shame that it looks like Troye is likely a gonner on such a beaut too.

Can’t call it between HAIM or Bowie though. Seems to be an influx of Bowie stans on Buzzjack though… probs moreso than there is for HAIM.

I'm so confused how people don't like it or are saying there isn't much to it when it's so beautiful and raw imo?? One of his best??? Each to their own I guess, my taste has been wildly out of sync with buzzjacks for a while now

I wasn't anticipating a general shrug response to HEAVEN. Each to their own, of course, but I am disappointed in the reception and for the person who chose it!
