It’s been a hot minute since an R&B song by a British artist took off.

Urgh, I really want Human Nature to chart top 40 for the first time.

Just noticed that ‘Human Nature’ is his second highest song on Apple now 😮 shall see what happens on Spotify going forward.

Shame not many songs from MJ’s (incredible) Off The Wall are appearing.

I listened to it in full yesterday - not a bad song on it, and it still sounds as fresh and exciting as ever.

Alex Warren's newie kind of flopping was not something I expected.

Maybe he'll learn there's only so many times you can rehash 'Ordinary'

At least Bring Your Love is holding a reasonable position on Apple.

Looking like it's not coming back to Spotify in a hurry.

If anyone else was wondering how the Michael Spotify impact compared to fellow music biopic juggernaut Bohemian Rhapsody then this seems to have been the peak for that in the November 2018 streaming thread, courtesy of Dan:

25 Bohemian Rhapsody

52 Another One Bites The Dust

61 Don't Stop Me Now

74 Somebody To Love

86 Killer Queen

87 Under Pressure (with David Bowie)

103 We Will Rock You

177 We Are The Champions

so this current domination is next level

Totally agree! Hopefully it can get some new love for its 50th anniversary in a couple years. Working’ Day and Night, Get On The Floor and the title track need some attention. ❤️

I wonder what yesterday’s UK streams were for Bring Your Love and if it was close to the top 200.

I wonder why this one is so big as BR was a huge box office smash. Have the dynamics changed since 2018 in terms of streaming becoming more mainstream. I remember we used to get a lot of rap album bombs then which we don’t seem to as much now.

On a seperate note, glad that ‘Doors’ is doing so well following the release of Noah’s album.

To me, a Michael Jackson biopic was ALWAYS going to do better than a Queen (or about 98% of other artists) biopic. I'm not sure that there has ever been a popstar bigger than Michael Jackson at the very height of his fame (other than maybe The Beatles (? - we'll see how well their 4 (!) movies do in a couple of years - but I suspect a HUGE dominance for them)).

I haven't seen the movie yet but critics aren't fans but fans/audiences are LOVING it and are just enjoying being swept up in the Michael Jackson hysteria all over again. Doesn't seem to matter to people that quite a bit of reshoots had to be done and certain moments cut due to legalities. People are just enjoying the music and enjoying being in the MJ hysteria all over again.

Think the userbase of Spotify in 2018 was also probably a lot younger on average than it is now.

I wonder if a Fleetwood Mac biopic could produce a similar domination to this thinking

Michael had the biggest opening weekend for any biopic ever and is looking to do better than Bohemian Rhapsody in the long run though. I think social media being all over Michael is helping it a lot too
